Your Travel Plan for Hampta Pass Trek

You can book trains, air flights, and bus tickets for your journey only according to the information given by us.

The Hampta pass trek will be of 5 days from Manali to Manali, includes travel.

First of all, all the trekkers will have to book their flight and train bus according to our time table as our pick up is from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, you will have to reach Manali Bus Stand, Mall Road in the morning.

A taxi from Visit Himalayas will link you to the Manali bus stand, near mall road.

Visit Himalayas organize transport to the Jabari base camp from the Manali bus stand. Our vehicles leave at 9:00 am to 10:00 am sharp from Manali. Sharing taxi costs include your package.

In the Manali bus stand, you will get our taxi staff that will arrange transport for you. The contacts no Transport coordinator or our office team will give you a week ago to your departure.

How to Reach Hampta Pass Trek?

If you are traveling from Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai or Gujarat any other city, so you will have to come to Delhi, you will get a flight from Delhi for Bhuntar comfortably.

Option 01:- By Air

Visit Himalayas tell you that whenever you travel, you should reach your destination within 2 hours.  Bhuntar, Kullu airport is the nearest airport in Manali.

Located about 32 km for the Manali city. There are flights available to Bhuntar airport, you can go online and book your tickets. These are easy and easy ways for you and you also save your time, Bhuntar to Manali taxi available in airport 24×7.

If you find the flight to Bhuntar airport expensive, then you come by flight to Delhi or travel by bus from Delhi to Manali, and it will be easy for you. And many Volvo bus available.

Option 02:- By Bus

  1. Whenever you are going for any trek, it is very important that you go completely fit and ready.
  2. The trek is Moderate, if you make your feet and your mind calm and strong, you will find the trek very easy.
  3. While trekking, keep in mind that you are walking on the right route or not always with your guide.
  4. Most people look somewhere and where they are walking, this can cause twitching in your legs, which can ruin your entire trek.
  5. It is important to ask your doctor if you have any medical problems
  6. I should always keep my medical kit with me, it is very important.
  7. Visit Himalayas always keep a medical kit with you, such as oxygen cylinders, medicine to be given in emergency on the trek
  8. If any trekkers have any more problems, then they are brought back to the base camp by laying them in the stretcher.
  9. Our camp in Hampta pass trek is around the 6000ft to 11000 ft where you can not have any problem of oxygen

Day 1 : Pickup to you from Manali to Jobra by taxi (22km) same day trek to Cheeka camp.

Total distance  – 25 km – 4/5 Hours journey

Mode of journey –  By taxi 22 km and On foot 03 km

Altitude – Cheeka camp – 3078 Meter

Night stay – Our Campsite – on twin share basis

All trekker meet of group leader manali mall road head, Manali to Jobra is reached by vehicle. Manali is situated at an elevation of 6,700 above sea level. It is a very good place to acclimatize before starting the trek. On the first day you will reach the height of 10,100 ft. The trek on foot starts from Allain Guhugal Hydro power Project Junction. While crossing the main route, you will find a variety of trees like maple, deodar and oak. The view is extremely refreshing.

After 1/2 Hours of trekking Trekkers will be welcomed with lush greenery meadow. The Rani Nallah comes in between the meadow. The surreal view will make the trekkers go crazy as they will witness few sheep and cow grazing on the field. While crossing the meadow you climb up the hill on the left side. Cheeka is reached at the end of the vast meadow. This route is quite scenic has spacious green patch. With the Rani River flowing, it makes it very easy to pitch the tents.

Day 2 : Trek from Cheeka camp to Balu ka Gera

Total distance – 08 km – 4/5 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot

Altitude – Balu ka Gera camp – 3783 Meter

Night Stay – Our Campsite – on twin share basis

Post breakfast, start trekking to Balu ka Gera. It is a 4 hour easy ascent to Balu Ka Gera; your campsite for the day. The trail is an easy one along the banks of river for most of the journey. This trail leads to rough terrain and slop of boulders.

There is a gradual ascent and you will see the stunning Dhauladhar range in the background. The view is worth to drool upon when one gets a glimpse of the Indrasan Peak. The scenery turns out to be fairytale and the gradient gradually increases till the Jwara Nala. The most exciting part is the River Crossing. River Crossing is not a cup of tea as one needs to take proper precaution for crossing.

So, on this day, you will have to do two river crossings is just near to Cheeka Camp site and the other at Jwara. This is an exciting and splendor moment for the, adventurers as you have to open your shoes because the water level will reach your knee. Also, you will feel numbness in your feet due extremely cold water after crossing the river.

Balu Ka Gera is surrounded by mountains and is lush green, perfect for camping. Pitch your tents here, have your dinner and retire for the night.

Day 3 : Trek from Balu ka Gera to via Hampta pass (4310 Meter) Shea Goru camp

Trek Distance – 12 km – 6/7 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot

Altitude – Shea Goru camp – 3735 Meter

Night Stay – Our Campsite – on twin share basis

Today climb to Hampta Pass, your destination which lies is at an altitude of 14,107 feet. The trail moves along the river with charming orange and pink flowers on the bank.

The trail along the river takes you to the actual base of Hampta Pass from where the strenuous climb begins. Cross two ridges to reach the pass and you will come across Deo Tibba Plateau. The ridge top offers a view of another parallel ridge behind which lies Hampta Pass.

Now, the trail is a mixture of some ascents and descents, crossing this area may take some time. After some efforts and steep climb reach Hampta Pass.

The pass offers rewarding panorama views which are totally worth your efforts. After reaching the Pass spend some time there in peace watching the magical Himalayan views. Then, start descending to Shea Goru.
Descent is steep and trickier, sliding down can be the best option i and fun too. Ahead the trail gets leveled. Reach your campsite which lies beside a river.

Day 4 : Trek from Shea Goru camp to Chatru camp – (05 km) same day drive to Chandratal (4300 Meter) back to Chatru camp (156 km) (5/6 Hours)

Trek Distance – 161 km – 9/10 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 5 km – by taxi -156 km

Altitude –Chatru camp – 3735 Meter

Night Stay – Camp site – on twin share basis

Shea Goru is everyone’s favorite campsite. You will find the contrast in the scenarios. It is the stunning desolate valley of LAhaul. Not only this, the addition of wildflower and small stream passing by makes it more ethereal.

A dream landscape for every mountain lover with such exquisite settings makes the trekkers and nature lovers go bonkers. With the backdrop of the LAhaul and Spiti range along with the Pir Panjal Range rule the entire landscape of Hampta Pass.

Trek till the campsite of Chatru. If the roads are good enough to ride, you can head towards Chandratal Lake which is around 78 km and takes 2 hours to reach. Each one of us have heard about Pangong Lake of Ladakh. Chandratal Lake is absolutely stunning and equally beautiful.
Drive to the Chandratal Lake which is a jaw dropping emerald blue lake in the LAhaul and Spiti district. The vibrant colors of the lake and the desert mountain makes it cherry on top of the cake. Same day back to Chatru camp – night dinner ready for you here – enjoy the last night here.

Day 5 : Trek from Chatru camp to Manali via Atal Tunnel  (4114 Meters) to Manali (140 km) Reach evening at 3 pm

Trek Distance – 140 km – 5/6 Hours journey

Mode of the journey – By Taxi

Today’s last breakfast with us, the drive from Chatru camp is extremely picturesque. Witness the panoramic view of atal tunnel  and other mountain ranges and tiny hamlets of Kullu and Manali.
The last day will be a relaxing day and finally, the five extravagant adventurous days ends in Himachal Pradesh.

Note: –  Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Necessary Items for trekkers

Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing 
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
