Pangarchulla trek is not very difficult and not easy either, this trek comes in a moderate and difficult level,  I myself have done this trek sometimes with me, people who are trekking for the first time, we have done the entire trek, they used to need help somewhere, which we and our team used to help.

This trek is a bit difficult, but if your fitness is good and you have it in your mind that I want to trek then you can do it absolutely. Where help is needed, our guides will support you, you just have to be strong and capable of the trek. One thing is that all you can do is to have courage and I myself am passionate.

Pangarchulla Trek is a safe trek if you are going with a good trekking team which you must know before booking yourself, It is important for you to know that the bow trekking organization with which we are going is right or not,

Today start your journey with team Himalayan Hikers from Haridwar,
The drive to Joshimath is 10/11 hours long, along the sacred rivers – Alaknanda, Mandakini and Ganga. Devprayag is en route at the confluence of river Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. This is beautiful place
The journey won’t get boring because there are sudden changes in the scenery as you go further.

Day 2 : Drive Joshimath to Dhak by taxi (12km) same day trek to Gulling camp

Total distance – 17 km – 4/5 Hours journey

Mode of journey – By taxi -12 km – On foot – 5 Km

Altitude Gulling camp – 9,832 feet

Night Stay – our Camp – on twin share basis

Start early today and leave for Dhak village which is 12 km away from Joshimath, this is the starting point of Kuari Pass trek.

Start the ascent and on the trail some shepherded huts are visible. Then trek through the forests of Oak, Deodar and Rhododendrons. Dhauli Ganga River flows below near the Hydro power plant, now you are about to reach a village named “Tugasi” trekking here would be a relief because the trail is leveled.

Go further, reach a ridge and cross a descent to reach your campsite “Gulling”. It lies amid a forest and offers beautiful views of Chaukhamba peaks.

Set your tents here, have dinner and retire for the 1st night at our camp site

Day 3 :Trek from Gulling top to Khullara camp 13,989 feet) 

Trek Distance – 05 km – 3/4 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 05 Km

Altitude – Jangal camp – 11072 feet

Night Stay – our Camp – on twin share basis

Today you have to ascent all the way to Jangal camp, after breakfast get yourself prepared and start heading towards the campsite. Trek through the rough terrain and beautiful vistas will not leave your side throughout the hike.

Enter the forest area with abundant trees of Pines, Oaks and Rhododendrons. Further find blooming flowers and snow with growth of Spruce and Silver Birch.

After a long trek reach Jangal camp, your campsite for today, it is a mesmerizing forest clearing surrounded by variety of trees. After setting up your camps explore the area and then settle for the night.

Day 4 : Trek from Khullara Camp to Pangarchulla peak summit (15096 feet) back to Camp

Trek Distance – 13 km – 7/8 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 13 Km

Altitude –Pangarchulla peak – 15096 feet

Night Stay – our Camp – on twin share basis

Today Start early in the morning around 4:00 am. Carry enough water with you because ahead are no water sources. Initial trek involves climbing a ridge which can take up to half an hour. After this ridge climb you will be rewarded by the view of Pangarchulla peak (15096 feet) and other high rising peaks.

Ahead are levelled snow fields, now you will be needing ice axe to cut the thick snow and go further. Before you reach Pangarchulla base catch the delicious views of Hathi peak, Ghodi peak, Mana, Kamet and Chaukhamba peaks.

Reach the base and start steep ridge climb. Use your equipment for summit climb, this will be the most difficult part of the trek because of heavy winds. After this tough section come to the peaks top and face the Garhwal snow peaks shining in glory

The unbelievable views from Pangarchulla is the reason of its demand among avid trekkers. Now, start the descent to Jangal camp, it would take approximately 4 hours, be very careful while descending through ridges. Overnight stay at camp

Day 5 : Trek from Khullara camp to Dhak Road head (11 km) (5/6 Hours) same day drive to Joshimath by taxi

Trek Distance –11 km – 5/6 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 11 Km

Night Stay – Hotel – on twin share basis

Retrace your steps from Jangal camp to Dhak and again go through quaint villages. Bid goodbye to the snow peaks promising them a Hello again.

Reach Dhak the starting and end point of the trek. From here vehicle will be arranged to get back to Joshimath. The arrangements will be made in a guest house or a hotel there.

Day 6 : Drive from Joshimath to Haridwar via Rishikesh by taxi

Trek Distance –286 km – 9/10 Hours journey

Mode of journey – By taxi

Today last breakfast with Himalayan Hikers After breakfast leave early 6 am, have your lunch en route and you can reach Haridwar evening 5 to 6 Pm.

Note: –  Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing 
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
