Day 1: Pick up from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Sankri (base camp) by taxi

Visit Himalayas organizes transport for trekkers from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning which will leave for Sankri around 6:00 am to 7:00 am.

Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful places in India. The main attraction of this place is Rajpur road go through it and get a glimpse of Dehradun’s beauty.

Reach Mussoorie after an hour which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. People visit it heavily during vacations with their family and friends. After half an hour, stop at kempty fall. Have breakfast there and witness people from different parts of the world. The break will be of a maximum of 1 hour. Ahead the peaks are visible and further you will come close to holy Yamuna River. If you want, then take a short break of 20 minutes and enjoy being around it.

Further, you will cross the small markets of Nainbagh, Damta, and Naugaon. Reach Purola around 1:30 pm and take a break there for lunch. After having lunch proceed to Sankri via Jarmola. From there the back of Kedarkantha is visible. Go through the picturesque zig-zag road amid the pine forest of Jarmola.

Reach Mori and after 1 hour you will come across a check post. They will ask for Aadhar cards and some other details. Ahead lies Sankri, enjoy the drive and the wait is soon going to be over. Reach trekkers paradise and the main market of Sankri.

Go to hotel Swargarohini, freshen up and enjoy evening snacks in the open terrace with great views. You will be provided some details after which you can go for an evening walk but be at the hotel for dinner.

Enjoy delicious dinner and spend a comfortable night in the mountains.

Day 2: Trek from Sankri to Taluka by taxi – 11 km same day trek to Cheludgad camp!

Total distance 23 km – 4/5 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 12 km – By taxi 11 km

Altitude Cheludgad camp – 2600 Meters

Night Stay – Our Campsite – on a twin share basis

After breakfast, ready to all trekkers we will drive towards Taluka on the way beautiful forest many species of tree, Taluka is a small village with concrete houses and you can easily find few shops and hotels there. Trek starts from Taluka and the sight of magnificent snow-clad mountains accompany you all along the way.
Go ahead, cross a bridge over a stream and follow the trail. Pass through dense forest and a Supin river on the way is visible flowing through the woods below. Continue trekking and a village named Dhatmir comes into right sight.

Ahead lies a lavish green meadow, which further leads to the forest section. The trail changes to the mixture of steep and leveled path and afterward to muddy.
After some hours of trekking, Supin River can be seen flowing through the woods. Now, again cross the forest section and reach the green fields and a shop on the way.
From here, cross a bridge and a little higher you are welcomed by the surpassing views of towering peaks. To reach Cheludgad campsite today, set up your camps here and retire for the night. Enjoying the first camping night here.

Day 3: Trek from Cheludgad camp to Devsu Bugyal Camp

Trek Distance – 07 Km – 3/4 Hours journey /p>

Mode of journey – On foot 7 km

Altitude – Devsu Bugyal camp – 2890 Meters

Night Stay – Our Campsite – on a twin share basis

After breakfast starts the trek the destination for today is Devsu Bugyal camp on a gradual ascent that offers excellent views of the snow-covered mountains and vast valleys with huge waterfalls.

Day 4: Trek from Devsu Bugyal to Ruinsara Lake

Trek Distance – 12km – 5/6 Hours journey

Mode of journey – on foot – 12 km

Altitude – Ruinsara lake camp – 3500 Meters

Night Stay – Campsite – on a twin share basis

Today start trek to Ruinsara Lake is at an altitude of 3500 meters. In the morning after breakfast and with packed lunch, the trek starts to Ruinsara Lake and ascending again offers mesmerizing views of the snow-Covered mountains and wide valleys with cascading waterfalls. And enjoying one the way Ruinsara lake river
First, there was a steep descent of about 100 m to the Ruinsara River & then a steady ascent along a beautiful trail that was broken due to landslides at various places – where later during the day the ponies had a lot of difficulties.
Came to an idyllic spot for a nice halt for lunch under trees & over huge boulders.

Every long break is bound to have a photo session!
The area is home to a number of Himalayan birds and animals. Trek through the muddy path, cross the slippery areas carefully and further cross Ruinsara River over a bridge.
Ruinsara Tal is a freshwater Lake that lies amidst the pristine peaks and is nestled on the foot of Mt. Kalanag. The region is idyllic and turns lush green after the rains of June and August.
From here, you can relish magnificent views of Ruinsara Range, Mt. Kalanag, Bandarpoonch and Swargarohini (I) (II) (III). The base camp of kyarkoti

Day 5: Trek from Ruinsara Lake to Odari camp

Trek Distance 06 km – 4/5 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 13 km

Altitude – Odari camp – 3815 Meters

Night Stay – on a twin share basis

Odari is a rock cave; our local shepherd staying here monsoon season, Today’s trek is 6 km long which can be covered in 4/5 hours. It begins in the morning after breakfast with packed lunch through dense forests and difficult trail.
Walk along the river and reach the campsite Odari.

There enjoy the majestic views of Bandarpoonch peaks and Swargarohini peaks. Revive your mind in the beauteous aura of this place. At night we have dinner and relax in tents.

Day 6 : Trek from Odari camp to Bali pass summit 4950 Meters down to upper Damni camp

Trek Distance 06 km – 6/7 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 12 km

Altitude Upper Damni camp – 3800 Meters

Night Stay – on a twin share basis

Today woke up at 5:00 am early morning Trek will start with packed lunch to Bali Pass which lies at an altitude of 4,950 Meters. Today will be the most adventurous and challenging trek because the exhilarating trail remains covered in thick snow. So, it is important to start the day early and carry the equipment.
Note: – safety is very important so please follow your Guide and helpers team, reach Bali Pass, cross steep snow ridges. Continue your trek using an ice axe and follow the route.

The terrain is not very difficult but long distance is tiring.
After crossing the ridge section, Bali Pass comes into sight. Now, start the technical climb, some parts may get challenging but they can be traversed using the right skills and following the instruction of guides and Visit Himalayas team.

The last ridge climb is tough which leads to this high Pass. Now, the panorama views will surely leave you speechless and staring at the high rising peaks. Bandarpoonch and Black peak look close and clear with full sight of Ruinsara and Yamunotri valleys.

Descending on the other side of the pass proved to be an even bigger ordeal than climbing up the snow. About 80-90 m pitch immediately after the pass was so treacherous that each of us had to be taken down, hand-held by a porter.

Day 7 : Trek from upper Damni camp to via Yamunotri temple to Jankichatti Hotel

Trek Distance 13 km – 6/7 Hours journey

Mode of journey – On foot – 13 km

Altitude Jankichatti altitude – 2650 Meters

Night Stay – on a twin share basis

After breakfast, head towards Yamunotri. The Yamuna is the daughter of the sun (Surya Dev) Visit the temple and hot spring present there and then trek down to Jan Ki Chatti which lies 5 km away.
Take the trail descending through the forest. The downward trail is steep and it will connect to the old Yamunotri trail. If you want to visit the Yamuna temple go left, Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River, about 3,293m above the sea level.

This temple was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. Yamunotri Dham is one of the Char Dham.
People come to visit this place, after visiting people go happily.

People also come from abroad for this beautiful trek, coming to this place brings peace of mind. Sometimes peoples who come from abroad say that you are so lucky that you live in such a beautiful place.
Char Dham is situated in the state of Uttarakhand that’s why Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi which literally means “The Land of Lord”.
Otherwise, take a right and follow the trail that connects with the new Yamunotri to Jan Ki Chatti.

Reach the cemented trail and in two hours come to Jan Ki Chatti.

Note: –  Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Necessary Items for trekkers

Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing 
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
